Ethics in Islam
For Muslims, contemporary society offers many challenges when attempting to adhere to an Islamic way of life and Islamic ethics. Oftentimes, a commitment to the common good exists in tension with the need to cling to our code of conduct. This course will introduce students to the breadth of Islamic ethical traditions and how Islam produced a radical change in moral values predicated on its sanctions.

Dr. Abdullah bin Hamid Ali is an assistant professor of Islamic law and Prophetic Tradition at Zaytuna College in Berkeley, California (2007-present). His course teachings include Prophetic Tradition, Commercial Law, Family Law, Inheritance Law, Jurisprudential Principles, Islamic Virtue Ethics.
